Dates: Week 1 - June 28 - July 3, 2010 (No classes will be held on July 1st Canada Day) Week 2 - July 5-9, 2010 Week 3 - July 12-16, 2010 Week 4 - July 19-23, 2010

Program Overview

Vanleena provides dance education to students of all ages and ability. Our artistic vision is one of innovation and creativity - leading each student in achieving their personal goals in dance and the performing arts.

We are a performing school and as such, we believe that an essential part of dance training is performance on stage in front of an audience; we aim to produce entertaining and polished productions that includes all our dancers.

Vanleena offers the following training:

General Division
Performing Division
Ballet Studies - Royal Academy of Dance
Pre-Professional Half Day Program

General Division

Classes in the General Division are designed to introduce the student to dance - in a fun lighthearted atmosphere. All classes have set objectives and students are expected to bring their best energy and attitude to each class. All students in the General Division are welcome to join special events during the year and are expected to perform in the year end recital, "On Stage."

Performing Division

For dancers wanting a more comprehensive dance experience, the Performing Division offers a complete curriculum of classes. These exciting and challenging classes require dedication and commitment from both the dancers and parents.
Placement is by audition. Ballet classes is a prerequisite to all performing groups and must be taken concurrently with all performing classes.

Ballet Studies - Royal Academy of Dance

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus is taught at Vanleena. All students enrolled in RAD classes are expected to take part in RAD exams in spring. The majority of ballet classes are accompanied by a live pianist.

Pre-Professional Half Day Program

Vanleena is pleased to offer an expanded half-day program for students who are seriously exploring the possibility of a career in dance and/or performing arts. Admission to this program is by audition only. The program runs Monday-Friday from 1:30-4:00pm. A significant commitment is expected and students must arrange for schooling to end daily by 1:00pm.
